Location: Kanchanburi province – West Thailand
Nearest Airport: – Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi (BKK) Don Mueang (DMK)
Duration: Full Day
After months of preparation we are pleased to introduce this new elephant freedom project.
Elephant Haven – Sai Yok Kanchanaburi program, is located in the South West of Thailand in the beautiful Sai Yok National Park region. This project is currently home to 6 elephants at the project. Another 49 elephants are being used for tourist industry activities at the nearby Sai Yok trekking camp, offering rides and are kept in confinement 24 x 7.
6 elephants have made it to the gate of Elephant Haven already.
Our team from Elephant Nature Park have been working together with the mahouts at Sai Yok trekking camp in Kachanaburi, in preparation of this important event. Taking the chains and saddles off of the elephants that were being used for riding.
If we can demonstrate the importance of freedom for these 6 elephants, the trekking camp will consider releasing the other 49 !!
This project is extremely important to educate trekking camps and people who keep elephants, about the joy and satisfaction for everyone by giving freedom to elephants to live in their natural habitats. The more people support this project, the brighter the future is for other elephants.
It is time now to take the chain and saddle off of the elephants. It’s now time to provide an elephant haven for them.
From now on, they will enjoy their time to walk together to the green fields, roam free, play in the mud, eat well and swim in the deep river.
It is time to retire them from their labors, young or old, and say goodbye to being ridden. It is time for people to come to treat them with respect.
If you want to help to make the difference for them, please come to support this new Elephant Haven Project. We need volunteers and visitors. The more you come to support the program, the more elephants will get freedom.
Please see the pictures of the elephant and then you can see how happy they are when they get the freedom that they deserve. Please support the Sai Yok camp in making this big change and help to take the saddles off of the elephants backs.
